Reflecting on this school year

This year has been very strange compared to the other years. I say this because of the pandemic that was going on and still is this year. Classes were very spaced out and seemed more independent than usual. I say this because we weren’t allowed too much group work due to the necessity of social distancing that we had to follow because of the guidelines. Another part that I thought was different was how you could’ve been sent home at any point if someone sat by you or if you got it.  This actually happened to me and I didn’t enjoy it. At first, you would think this is great I can stay home, but it gets very old very quickly, and staying in your bed all day gets tiring.

Another factor of school that was weird was masks. Seeing all my fellow peers with a mask on and seeing only their eyes were weird. It was also very hard to understand what people were saying sometimes because you couldn’t see their mouths. My final main reason that I think it’s weird is this year I didn’t get to experience that the juniors usually get. For example, we couldn’t eat in the alumni house because of the corona. Also finally all of the dances were different because of the pandemic. To bring, my review to a close I think our administrators did an excellent job of handling the virus and managing to keep school kinda normal.

March Madness update

Well, it took half of a day for all my brackets to bust. To begin with, Dwyane Washington is a joke of a player, I mean who is he to think he is Kevin Durant and can shoot stepback threes. To sum it up he single-handedly ruined my bracket by losing to a school named oral Roberts.  Besides that, it has been a fun tournament. After Ohio State lost I let go of my bracket and decided to watch for fun.

To begin with, some games I’ve loved was Loyola vs Illinois, I loved how a man with a beautiful mustache absolutely destroyed one of the best teams in the country. Also, I really enjoyed watching the Christian school beat Texas and put the horns down to the camera. Finally, my favorite was oral Roberts coming back vs Florida and going to the sweet 16 because of how much passion there was in the games

Change In English

At the begging of the year, I didn’t know a lot of things. To begin with, I was very slow at writing off my mind. Another example is that I couldn’t analyze books or themes very well.

Now, whenever we write for 5 minutes I don’t find myself stopping as much and losing my focus. Also, I can think of an idea and don’t run off course. Finally whenever we analyze books or passages, I’m not as simple with my answer but answer it more precisely.

Miami Heat Update

The Heat have been struggling lately and were on a bad losing streak.  Injuries have hurt this team a lot. Jimmy Butler was a big loss for us and hurt us dramatically. The other injury was Goran Dragic, he is vital to this team as he is a veteran and brings a lot of energy and uprising to the team.

Jimmy and Goran have returned and now the Heat are on a 5 win streak. After a good run and some very good wins, we are back in the playoff picture. As long as we stay healthy I believe we can keep climbing the standings. Finally, I will update this prediction next week, and hope for them to finish in the Top 4.

Jimmy Butler

Yesterday Jimmy Butler came back to the team finally after being out for two weeks. What a difference he made, to begin with the most important thing is that the Heat finally won and snapped a 5  game losing streak.  He also put up 30 points and went 14-16 at the free-throw line.

For Jimmy Butler to be healthy throughout the rest of the season is very crucial for this team. He is really the only leader this team has because we are a young team. Finally, I think its key to get on a winning streak and get our record to above 500 because we have an easy schedule coming up.

Slade House

The Slade house is an interesting book. To start off I like that the author did a good job of giving us a hook very early on. Also, I like that the addition of valium gives the author more of a shot to put more throw offs into the book. One thing is though I don’t understand that the mom was important at the beginning and then just stopped getting mentioned.

I do think that the author will continue with the valium trend. Also, I hope the mom reappears later on in the story. Also, I would love to find out why the Greyers would do this. Finally, I am curious to see how he escapes from the house.

Karate Kid

I chose this movie because I think it is easily a top 10 movie of all time. All the wisdom and quotes you can gain from that movie is unreal. I love the fact that this movie is a classic and never gets old. I think this movie will be forever an all-time movie, and everyone will watch it.

Another reason why I love this movie is the acting. The way Ralph Machio just played that role is amazing. I mean the guy was 22 and played a 16-year-old. Finally most of all Mr. Myagi, I mean wow I seriously believe he did an amazing performance. He was truly a legend and may he forever rest in peace.

Update on the Miami Heat

Since I left off the heat has been doing better, but not amazing. They beat the pistons very nicely but then had a tough schedule ahead against good teams. We played the Brooklyn nets last night and barely lost. Bam dropped 41 points and showed so much promise. This is a really good bright spot in this rough month for the Heat.

Now what I think we need to fix is rebounding. There have been multiple times we’ve lost a game because of rebounding. Now I do think that once Jimmy and Tyler come back we will improve by a big amount.  Hopefully, this will turn us around.

Sports dilema

Today marks the end of an era, Drew Brees is probably gonna retire. To make things even worse the game he played to put it was not the best. To write about this even bothers me. Year after year we suffer a heartbreaking playoff loss and say next year is it. Well, this was most likely the last year because of our cap situation. To state my frustration is impossible, to think of how it would’ve ended if Jared Cook hadn’t fumbled.

Now onto the next sports dilemma is the Miami Heat. We entered the season with the promise of getting better with a young core and a superstar in the prime. Instead, we decided to start the year 5-7. Granted Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo were out because of corona, but we have played bad teams that we should’ve won. The only good thing is that we aren’t at full strength and can go on a streak because that’s what type of team we are.
